Swimming Badge Achievement Ladder![]() STARFISH Awards - (Babies and Toddlers)The STARFISH Awards are suitable for babies as young as 6 months to swimming, The series is undertaken in shallow water with the guardian in the water holding and supporting the baby. Buoyancy aids may be worn but they are unnecessary as the guardian is holding the baby throughout. First Steps Series - Learn to Swim in 7 stepsThe Stanley Awards have recently been launched as the First Steps Series. This replaces, Rubberdubbers in 2008 and the Teddy Bear, Tadpole and Pool Frog Series in 2004. The First Steps Series has been designed to provide more incentive awards during the important early stages in learning to swim. Reg 1, the first step award, should normally be achieved during the first session that a pupil attends to encourage continuation. ![]() Learn to Swim Series (Younger children between 4-8 years)This series is designed for those who start to learn to swim at/almost at primary school, Pupils progress through 4 levels - Octopus, Goldfish, Angelfish and Shark.
